Soooo.. It's a day off for me. I'm still laying on my bed doing nothing but checking on Instagram and Pinterest because I'm having 3 days bed rest thanks to my 39 degrees celsius fever and major migraine I had lately. Went to the doctor and he suggested me to have a complete bed rest, so here I am. Now, why not sharing my new findings with you guys, right? Scroll down to read details about my Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen review.
As you know, I'm a stationary freak. New pens, markers, notebooks, and their families always excite me. I found this Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen and I'm so happy to try them one by one. I have the black set and the neon set. In this post I'll be sharing the black set. So a box of Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen consists of 8 pens with different nibs. Each of the pens have codes like XS, S, F, M, B, SC, SB, and 1,5. If you are using drawing pens, you'll see that the XS, S, F and M are actually drawing pens, the differences are only the size of the nib.
Speaking about the nibs, I really like the XS (the smallest nib, 0.1mm) to create outlines on my watercolor illustrations. My favorites are actually the brush-like pens. Look at the result below, see the B, SC, SB and 1,5. The similarities between those 4 are the smooth brush. If you like handwriting calligraphy, you can actually use the B and SB pen. The brush on B pen is a bit stiffer than the SB, so for a first timer, they're much easier to use. But if you like to use it as a brush, like a real watercolor brush, the SB pen is perfect. I am surprised by the result of SC pen, it is very similar to my custom brush on photoshop! Perfect! Aaaaannd the most important thing is that Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen are using India ink, so your writings or illustrations will last for years!
Just in case you're wondering, each of these Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen will cost you Rp 34.500. That's pretty cheap compare to Copic (which will cost you around Rp 50k each). The black set is Rp 297k and the neon set is Rp 215k. They're available at big Gramedias like the ones at Grand Indonesia, Central Park, Pondok Indah Mall and Matraman.
Do you like this kind of post? Should I do more reviews or sharing of what tools or brands do I use in my illustrations? Let me know! :)
